November has come and gone, meaning Nation Novel Writing Month has come to a close. The goal was to write at least 50,000 words by the end of November. All I managed to muster was a measly 16,018 words. I never even decided on a title for my humorous work of fiction. Heavy sigh.
But guess what? I’m cool with that. I’ve never participated in NaNoWriMo until this year, so the experience was challenging, eye opening, and fun. Besides, I have a great beginning to a novel I probably would not have started if it was not for NaNoWriMo! And I have got to admit that 16,018 words is the most I’ve ever written for one story. I still feel that I’ve achieved a little something. Someone give me a high five.
My hat is off to my friends and everyone else who finished their NaNoWriMo novels on time. Bravo, you people are freaking amazing! I can’t wait for next year! Okay, maybe I can wait, I need a breather. But you better believe I’m giving this another go. Now that I know a bit of what to expect from NaNoWriMo, when next November rolls around, I’ll be prepared to conquer the novel writing beast. I’ll pin the monster down to the ground, rip its head off, and mount it to my wall. With my bare hands. My bare sexy, man hands. Roar.
-See you all then,
